Ottawa has a vibrant humanist community that meets regularly for social gatherings, discussions, guest speakers, advocacy, and community events. We believe that humanism is more than a philosophy. It’s about building compassionate communities and supporting one another.

The Congress is being held at the Westin Ottawa, which is perfectly located in the heart of downtown. Many of the city’s top attractions, restaurants, cafés, pubs, and shopping districts are all within easy walking distance.

Our members have stood up for human rights, equality, freedom of conscience, science, and evidence-based public policy. We’ve marched, advocated, educated, commemorated, and worked alongside like-minded organizations to help build a more compassionate and inclusive community.
Some victories were large. Others were quiet but meaningful. Together, they tell the story of an organization that believes positive change happens when ordinary people decide to get involved.
Whether we’re laying a wreath on Remembrance Day, celebrating Pride, defending freedom of expression, or supporting reproductive rights, Humanist Ottawa continues to demonstrate that compassion, reason, and action go hand in hand.
